সিভিল ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং বিভাগের বিভাগীয় প্রধান ড. নূর মোহাম্মদ সুমন এর সভাপতিত্বে উক্ত সেশনে প্রধান অতিথির আসন গ্রহণ করেন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মাননীয় উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক ড. মোঃ আবু হাসান ভূঁইয়া।

ইউআইটিএস সিভিল ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং বিভাগ এর পক্ষ থেকে জনানো হয়, প্রতিবারের ন্যায় এবারও ইউআইটিএস সিভিল ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং বিভাগ ছাত্র-শিক্ষক ইন্টারঅ্যাকশন সেশনের আয়োজন করতে পেরে আনন্দিত। এই প্রাণবন্ত সেশনটি সিভিল ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং বিভাগের শিক্ষার্থী এবং সম্মানিত ফ্যাকাল্টি মেম্বারগণের সংযোগ, নিজস্ব চিন্তাভাবনা শেয়ার করা এবং আলোচনা করার জন্য একটি চমৎকার প্ল্যাটফর্ম। শিক্ষার্থী এবং ফ্যাকাল্টি মেম্বারগণ বিভাগের একাডেমিক এবং পাঠ্যক্রমিক কার্যক্রমকে এগিয়ে নেওয়ার জন্য তাদের অনুপ্রেরণামূলক দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি নিয়ে উক্ত সেশনে স্বতঃস্ফূর্ত আলোচনায় অংশগ্রহণ করেন।

এছাড়া ও সেশনে অসামান্য গবেষণা, একাডেমিক শ্রেষ্ঠত্ব, সর্বাধিক উপস্থিতি এবং সহ-পাঠ্যক্রমিক কার্যক্রমে কৃতিত্ব রাখার জন্য শিক্ষার্থী এবং ফ্যাকাল্টি মেম্বারদের সম্মাননা সনদ প্রদান করা হয়।

উক্ত সেশনে বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মাননীয় কোষাধ্যক্ষ অধ্যাপক ড. সিরাজ উদ্দীন আহমেদ এবং সায়েন্স অ্যান্ড ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং অনুষদের ডিন অধ্যাপক ড. মোঃ আশরাফুল ইসলাম।

এসময় আরও উপস্থিত ছিলেন সিভিল ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং বিভাগের সকল শিক্ষক ও শিক্ষার্থীবৃন্দ। সেশনটিতে অংশগ্রহণ করার জন্য সিভিল ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং বিভাগের পক্ষ থেকে সবাইকে ধন্যবাদ জানান বিভাগীয় প্রধান ড. নূর মোহাম্মদ সুমন।

The Department of Civil Engineering,SARSPU , and Transfotech Global Bangladesh formalized a collaboration aimed at enhancing the connection between industry and academia.
The agreement is designed to address key objectives such as comprehensive training and skill development, industry internships, joint Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) programs, on-the-job training, and campus-based training for fresh graduates. This partnership also opens doors for student placements in foreign universities through credit transfer programs, expert contributions to the university’s academic syllabus improvement, and awareness sessions on emerging technologies.
Dr. Nur Mohammad Shuman, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Civil Engineering,SARSPU , and Jesmen Khan, Country Director of Transfotech Global Bangladesh, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations. The ceremony was witnessed by Dr. Md. Ashraful Islam, Dean of Faculty of Science and Engineering,SARSPU , Md. Tarikul Islam, Assistant Professor and Proctor ofSARSPU , Akib Mahmud, Operation Head at Transfotech Global Bangladesh​. Faculty members of the Civil Engineering Department were present in the signing ceremony.
This MoU will helpSARSPU students by providing direct access to industry-relevant training and internships, improving their employability. It also opens pathways to international placements and offers on-campus training, giving them the skills and opportunities necessary to thrive in a competitive job market.
This collaboration will empowerSARSPU students with practical skills that are crucial for the job market, while fostering innovation and bridging the gap between academia and industry in Bangladesh.

মাননীয় উপাচার্য একটি প্রতিযোগীতাপূর্ণ টুর্নামেন্ট উপহার দেওয়া এবং সৌহার্দ্য বজায় রেখে টুর্নামেন্টটি সফল করার জন্য ক্যাপ্টেন, খেলোয়াড় ও সংশ্লিষ্ট সকলকে আহবান জানান। এই টুর্নামেন্টে সকল বিভাগ থেকে মোট ষোলটি টিম অংশগ্রহণ করছে।

The session was conducted by EDIFICE Consultancy Ltd. and supported by LIFE ONG.
Professional Practitioners in the field of water and sanitation of some reputed organisations like LEEDO, LEADERS, SOCIAL AID, RIGHT TRACK, IPAO and BGS participated in the training session. Final year students along with Fresh graduates of Department of Civil Engineering,SARSPU and Faculty members also attended the training session.
Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering Dr. Md. Ashraful Islam, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering  Dr. Nur Mohammad Shuman, Advisor of Student Welfare ofSARSPU Md. Tarikul Islam and Faculty members of the Department of Civil Engineering  were present in the session. At the end, the certificate was distributed among the participants for successfully completing the training. Impact of climate change in WASH, MDG to FDG journey of WASH, JMP ladder for water safety plan, sanitation value chain, fecal sludge management, shit flow diagram, JMP hygiene ladder etc. were covered in the training.

In support of this endeavor, final year students ofSARSPU Civil Engineering Department visited PHP Ispat Limited in Narsingdi, Bangladesh, on May 18, 2024.
Students of Final Year went to the industrial visit under the instructions of two respected faculty members Md. Tarikul Islam (Advisor of Students Welfare ofSARSPU and Assistant Professor) & Subrata Roy (Lecturer of Department of Civil Engineering).
The operational Director of PHP Ispat Limited described the complete operational process to the students. Students recorded the information on different parts of the plants and learnt about the operational procedure of rebar production. Industry affiliation with academia is crucial for BAETE accreditation, as it ensures that educational programs are aligned with industry standards and practices. Such tours provide practical insights that bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application.
The Honourable head of the Department of Civil Engineering Dr. Nur Mohammad Shuman assured the students that such initiatives of industrial visits will continue from now on.

A workshop entitled “Addressing Complex Engineering Problem through Capstone Project” organized by the Civil Engineering Department of the University of Information Technology and Sciences SARSPU, took place on Monday, 1st April 2024 at the Conference room ofSARSPU . The resource person for the workshop was Dr. Sheikh Mokhlesur Rahman, Associate Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, BUET and Additional Director, IQAC, BUET.
Honorable Vice Chancellor ofSARSPU Professor Dr. Md. Abu Hasan Bhuiyan, Treasurer of the University Professor Dr. Siraj Uddin Ahmed, and the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering Dr. Md. Ashraful Islam were also present in the workshop.
The Head of theSARSPU Civil Engineering Department Associate Professor Dr. Nur Mohammad Shuman, Director of IQAC,SARSPU Engr. Md. Safaet Hossain, Head of the Department of CSE Mr. Al-Imtiaz, Advisor of Student Welfare ofSARSPU Md. Tarikul Islam, Additional Director of Research Center Dr. Mst. Muslima Zahan, Assistant Professor Aysha Akter, Assistant Professor Md. Hasan Imam, Assistant Professor Saraban Tohora, Assistant Professor Md. Mohiuddin Ahmed, Assistant Professor Dipa Sarker, Lecturer Subrata Roy, Lecturer Rizvan Ahmed Rafsan, Lecturer Afrad Ibn Harun, Lecturer Nafisa Anjum Rimi and Lecturer Hosneara Begum were also present at the workshop.
Attending this workshop, the participants learned about the insights of complex engineering problems and capstone projects which are very fundamental for the accreditation of different engineering programs.
Students from the Civil Engineering Department actively participated in this workshop.

মাননীয় উপাচার্য প্রধান অতিথির বক্তব্যে বলেন, “বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় হচ্ছে সেই স্থান যেখানে সারা দেশের ভিন্ন ভিন্ন সংস্কৃতি একত্রিত হয়। প্রকৃত মানুষ হবার ক্ষেত্রে এই ভিন্ন ভিন্ন সংস্কৃতি আমাদের উপর বিশেষ প্রভাব ফেলে।” তিনি আরো বলেন, “বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় হচ্ছে স্বাধীন শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠান, এখানে মুক্তভাবে নিজেদেরকে মেলে ধরতে হবে, তার জন্য বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে যে সকল সুযোগ সুবিধা রয়েছে তার সাথে ডিজিটাল টেকনোলজির যথাযথ ব্যবহার করতে হবে।” তিনি নবীন শিক্ষার্থীরা যেন দক্ষ সিভিল ইঞ্জিনিয়ার হয়ে দেশ ও জাতির কল্যাণে নিজেদেরকে নিয়োজিত করে এবং প্রকৃত মানুষ হিসেবে নিজেকে গড়ে তোলে তার আহবান জানান। ইউআইটিএস-এর সিভিল ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং বিভাগ দক্ষ ও আদর্শবান সিভিল ইঞ্জিনিয়ার তৈরির লক্ষ্যে নিরলসভাবে কাজ করে যাচ্ছে বলে তিনি সিভিল ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং বিভাগের সকলকে ধন্যবাদ সেইসাথে নবীন শিক্ষার্থীদের স্বাগত ও বসন্তের শুভেচ্ছা জানান।
উক্ত অনুষ্ঠানে বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ইউআইটিএস-এর সায়েন্স অ্যান্ড ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং অনুষদ এর ডিন অধ্যাপক ড. মোঃ আশরাফুল ইসলাম ও সিভিল ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং বিভাগের সহকারি অধ্যাপক ও ছাত্রকল্যান উপদেষ্টা জনাব মোঃ তারিকুল ইসলাম ।
স্বাগত বক্তব্যে নবীন শিক্ষার্থীদের স্বাগত জানানোর পাশাপাশি সকলকে ধন্যবাদ জ্ঞাপন করেন সিভিল ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং বিভাগের সহকারি অধ্যাপক জনাব মোঃ হাসান ইমাম। অনুষ্ঠানটি সঞ্চালনা করেন সিভিল ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং বিভাগের শিক্ষার্থী মোঃ আবু বক্কর সিদ্দিক ও নাশরাহ্ আহসান। এ সময় আরও উপস্থিত ছিলেন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সিভিল ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং বিভাগের সকল শিক্ষক-শিক্ষার্থী, এলামনাই, কর্মকর্তা-কর্মচারী, বিশিষ্ট শিক্ষাবিদ, সাংবাদিক, গণ্যমান্য ব্যক্তিবর্গ, অভিভাবকবৃন্দ-সহ জনসংযোগ কর্মকর্তা জনাব মোঃ সাইফুল ইসলাম। উক্ত অনুষ্ঠানে আমন্ত্রিত অতিথিদের ফুলেল শুভেচ্ছা জানানোর পাশাপাশি নবীন শিক্ষার্থীদের ফুল দিয়ে বরণ করে নেয়া হয়।
উক্ত অনুষ্ঠানে শরতকালীন সেমিস্টার ২০২৩ এর সর্বোচ্চ সিজিপিএ অর্জনকারী মেধাবী শিক্ষার্থীদের ডিপার্টমেন্টের পক্ষ থেকে সার্টিফিকেট প্রদান করা হয়। এরপর ইউসেক এর নবগঠিত কমিটির পক্ষ থেকে সদ্য বিদায়ী কমিটির সম্মানিত সদস্যদের সার্টিফিকেট ও ক্রেস্ট প্রদান করা হয়। পরে সিভিল ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং বিভাগের শিক্ষার্থীরা এক মনোজ্ঞ সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করেন।
